Cable Wakeboarding Operator 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Cable Operator to join our team for the summer season. As a Cable Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the cable systems. Your role will be essential in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and smooth experience for all riders while providing support to the wakeboarding instructors, camp instructors and all staff. If you have a passion for watersports, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to safety, this is the ideal position for you! This is a seasonal full time position from the middle of May through the middle of Aug.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cable System Operation:
    • Safely and efficiently operate the cable wakeboarding system, ensuring smooth rides for all participants.
    • Start, stop, and adjust the cable speed as necessary based on the skill level and needs of the wakeboarders.
    • Monitor cable operations and respond promptly to any issues or interruptions during a session.
    • Ensure the cable path is clear of obstructions and that all wakeboarding riders are safely positioned before starting the ride.
  2. Safety & Risk Management:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
    • Monitor the riders and surrounding area to ensure safe conditions at all times.
    • Communicate with wakeboarding instructors to ensure the safety of participants during activities.
    • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including stopping the cable, assessing the situation, and assisting with any necessary first aid or evacuation.
    • Perform routine checks and maintenance on the cable system, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
  3. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Conduct daily inspections of the cable system, pulleys, towers, and other related equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues or report major problems to the maintenance team.
    • Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment, ensuring the system is properly stored after use.
    • Ensure the wakeboarding cables, features and gear are maintained, cleaned, and stored appropriately.
  4. Customer Service & Communication:
    • Interact with participants to ensure they understand safety protocols and are ready to use the cable system.
    • Provide clear instructions on how to approach the cable, starting, and stopping, as well as any other relevant information.
    • Collaborate with wakeboarding instructors to adjust the cable system for specific lessons and skill levels.
    • Maintain clear communication with other team members to coordinate smooth transitions between sessions.
  5. Additional Support:
    • Assist in keeping the wakeboarding area clean, including removing debris from the water and surrounding area.
    • Provide general assistance to staff and guests to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience at the facility.
    • Help with crowd control and ensure that all participants follow the facility’s rules and regulations.

Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience operating cable wakeboarding systems or similar mechanical systems is highly desirable.
    • Basic understanding of wakeboarding and water sports is a plus.
    • Experience in a customer-facing role, especially in an outdoor recreational environment, is beneficial.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to emergency situations with confidence.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and a safety-focused mindset.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
    • Must be comfortable with working in all weather conditions.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work long hours in an outdoor setting with exposure to sun, water, and various weather conditions.
    • Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to lift and carry equipment as necessary.​
  • Availability:
    • Must be available for the full duration of the summer season.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and some evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working with wakeboarding or cable park systems.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Certification in Water Safety or related areas.
  • Experience working in an outdoor recreational environment.

Compensation:
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

Surf Shop & Rental Associate

Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly, customer-focused, and energetic Surf Shop & Rental Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with equipment rentals, managing the surf shop, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. You will provide excellent customer service, help maintain the surf shop’s inventory, check in wakeboarding participants and fit them with the proper gear for their sessions. If you are passionate about watersports, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong customer service mindset, this is the perfect role for you! This is a seasonal full time position.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Service:
    • Greet customers and provide them with information about the wakeboarding facility, rental equipment, and available services.
    • Assist customers in selecting the right equipment (wakeboards, wetsuits, helmets, etc.) based on their skill level and needs.
    • Process rental transactions, including checking in and out equipment, ensuring waivers are completed.
    • Answer customer inquiries in person, via phone, and email, addressing concerns or providing recommendations regarding products, services, and activities.
  2. Equipment Rentals:
    • Maintain the rental process, ensuring all wakeboarding equipment is in good condition and properly fitted for each customer.
    • Inspect and clean equipment after each use, including wakeboards, helmets, life jackets, and other gear.
    • Ensure that all rental equipment is returned on time and in the same condition it was rented.
  3. Surf Shop Operations:
    • Assist in managing the surf shop, including stocking shelves, displaying products, and maintaining an organized and clean environment.
    • Recommend products to customers, including wakeboarding gear, apparel, and accessories.
    • Process sales transactions for surf shop purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
    • Monitor inventory levels and assist in reordering products to ensure the surf shop remains fully stocked.
    • Keep track of product sales and promotions, ensuring pricing and signage are up-to-date.
  4. Safety & Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all customers are properly equipped with the necessary safety gear (life jackets, helmets, etc.) and understand the safety rules for wakeboarding and waivers are completed.
    • Educate customers on the proper use and care of equipment to prevent accidents or damage.
    • Enforce the facility’s safety protocols and communicate any important rules or regulations to customers.
  5. Maintenance & Cleanliness:
    • Ensure the surf shop, rental area, and surrounding spaces are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
    • Help with the upkeep of the equipment storage areas and ensure all gear is stored properly.
    • Assist with setting up and breaking down rental stations at the start and end of each day.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the wakeboarding instructors and other facility staff to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
    • Assist with special events, competitions, or group bookings as needed, providing customer service support for large groups.
    • Be a positive and energetic presence within the team, contributing to a fun and enjoyable work environment.

Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Previous retail, customer service, or rental experience is preferred but not required.
    • A passion for watersports, wakeboarding, or related activities is highly desirable.
    • Experience working with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers of all ages.
    • Friendly, customer-oriented attitude with a focus on delivering excellent service.
    • Basic knowledge of wakeboarding equipment and gear is an advantage, or a willingness to learn.
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing inventory and maintaining a clean shop.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 40 lbs.
    • Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks in an outdoor environment.
    • Comfort working in varying weather conditions (sun, rain, heat, etc.).
  • Availability:
    • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working at a surf shop, rental facility, or similar outdoor recreational environment.
  • Knowledge of wakeboarding or related water sports and equipment.
  • Certification in water safety, first aid, or similar is a plus.
