Day camps and lessons start at 9am. We ask that you show up 15 minutes early to make sure you have completed all of the necessary paperwork for each rider. Our staff will then properly fit you for your gear for the day. Once everyone is checked in and fitted for gear, the Camp Instructors will gather all the campers and take you to the designated camper area. This is where you where to keep all of your belongings for the day. This is also the area where parents will pick up their kids at the end of the day. Next your instructors will introduce themselves and each camper will say their name and let the instructors know if they are beginners or advanced riders etc. At this time, your instructors will be stretching with your group and will go over park rules.
Around 9:30am your instructors will take you up to the 2.0 cable system and get you on the water! This system works great for teaching the basic fundamentals wakeboarding and wakeskating. This cable system allows one rider on the water at a time, just like if you were being pulled behind a boat! The rider will be learning a deep water start. The operator will then slowly pulled the rider up and out teaching correct body position and riding technique. Once a rider has developed the necessary skills from the 2.0 Cable system, the instructor will graduate the rider over to the main cable lake. If you are already an experienced rider, we will start you on the main 5 tower cable lake, where your progression is endless!
A light lunch is included and served between 11:30 and 12:30. We offers other lunch items and snacks including ice cream that may be purchased during this time as well. Your more than welcome to bring your own lunch too, just make sure that you have it in a small cooler or have an ice pack in there!
Riding then starts back up from 12:30 until 3pm. We open to the public at noon, so campers will be mixed in with regular riders on the big lake at this time. The campers will still be receiving the same full instruction from 12:30-3pm. The 2.0 system is only open to campers until camp ends at 3pm.
Day Camp ends at 3pm. We ask for parents/guardians to meet us in the campers designated camper area to pick up your kids. If you have questions where this is, just stop into the pro shop and the employee will direct you to the correct location. At this time, the instructors will send each rider home with a progression sheet. This sheet will show the riders and partents/guardians what they learned and accomplished for the day. They will also see what skills need to be further developed and worked on at their next Day Camp! Riders will then be checked out with their instructor. Each camper will rinse off and return rental gear to the pro shop. At this time, take a look around the pro shop. Employees and the camp staff will be avaliable to answer any questions you have on gear! This is also the perfect time to sign up for another Day Camp!
Remember, class sizes are limited, so we encourage you to sign up now before time runs out or classes fill up. Please call KCW today to set up a date.
